I Have Lost My Indian Passport And Do Not Have A Copy Of It. How To Find Out The No Of Passport.?

I have lost my Indian passport during traveling and I do not have a copy of the passport. I don’t remember the no of my passport also. What is the process of knowing my passport. Is there any web site where passport no can be known.

Passport is a very sensitive document as far as national security is concerned.
You should immediately file an FIR in the Police station and carry a copy of the same to the passport office.
You should better go to the issuing passport office and talk to the passport officer and tell him / her your story. They might ask you to give details like name, father’s / mother’s name, residential address etc.
I think, with the help of the above, they may track down your passport number and may issue a duplicate on applying afresh…

Report this to nearest authority. Assuming you are traveling it will be an Indian consulate or embassy listed below. http://www.videsh.com/india_travel/india…
There will be no website where you can search because this is very sensitive information and I am sure the govt does not want such information on the web.
