Lean Protein for Weight Loss

ProComplexOne of the best ways to reduce unwanted body fat and gain muscle can increase your metabolism is to increase the amount of protein in your diet.

Make sure you get the “complete protein” (this is essential if you want to get all or most of your protein from vegetarian sources.) A complete protein contains all nine essential amino acids that are not naturally produced through the body, although it is also possible to get complete protein by eating foods that contain a combination of different amino acids (such as red beans and rice, for example).

If you are not getting enough complete protein in your diet, your body will actually damage the muscle tissue to cannibalize your own additional amino acids you need. Keep in mind that you do not even need to eat free meals that add up to complete protein in the same meal, as long as you keep track of what you eat and eat balanced meals throughout the day profile.

Some good sources of protein full lean red meat including single (grass-feed beef is preferred), albumin, quinoa, and protein supplements are usually made from whey (milk products). Other supplements often include protein from sources such as soy, hydrolyzed silk and brown rice.

Your daily protein needs will vary, depending on the weight of your body and how you are physically active. As a general rule, aim to consume one gram of protein for every pound of your ideal weight. If you are not trying to lose weight, but simply maintain your current weight, your protein intake should be equal to about one gram per pound. On the other hand, if you currently weigh 170 pounds and trying to lose 20 pounds, your daily protein intake should be about 150 grams.

Protein helps you lose weight in two ways: First, can help you feel less hungry by providing long-burning energy source is stable, and second it can trigger a “thermogenesis” in the body, process by which your body burns fat for fuel.

Unlike refined carbohydrates and sugars, which can increase your desire for the rest of the day, the protein can actually help you control your addiction by reducing appetite. This can make a lot easier to stay on the diet plan and lose weight, rather than give up on junk food.
